On May 27, the School of Physics and Electronic Engineering convened a special seminar on the application for doctoral programs. Attendees included Chen Yuanping (Dean), Sun Hongxiang (Vice Dean), academic leaders of the school, members of the School Academic Committee, and representative professors. The meeting focused on deliberating the applications for two first-level discipline doctoral programs: Physics, and Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering.

At the seminar, academic leaders Chen Yuanping and Cao Dawei respectively reviewed and analyzed the achievements made in discipline development, scientific research outputs, and other aspects of the two disciplines (Physics and Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering) in recent years. Participating professors conducted in-depth discussions on key topics such as refining disciplinary directions, integrating landmark achievements, and linking disciplinary resources.

Chen Yuanping emphasized that discipline development is vital to the survival and development of the school. All faculty members should actively pursue self-improvement, and in particular, the participating professors should take the lead. They must consolidate the academic foundation through teaching and scientific research, acting not only as explorers in cutting-edge fields but also as dedicated educators in talent cultivation, to jointly write a new chapter in the high-quality development of the school.
